Alan is a cinematographer based in the UK. working internationally, his experience ranges from multi-million dollar studio features, indie features, high budgeted shorts, and feature length documentaries.
He received a BAFTA award in 2013 for his work on the short film ‘lost serenity’. since then he has gone on to work as 2nd unit dop with the likes of Monika Lenczewska PSC (LAbyrinth, Difret, Message from the King) Darran Tiernan (Westworld, American Gods) and Carlos De Carvalho (Star Wars, Darkest Hour).
Often found travelling to far flung places to work, he has had many opportunities to experience rare cultures and challenging environments. Each encounter offering something satisfying on a creative level and developing his eye as a cinematographer.
2017 brought his first opportunity to work as principle dop on a feature length drama. Isolani, directed by R. Paul Wilson (Shade, ConMen, The Real Hustle), a film about chess and the love of a mother, was selected for Raindance film festival and nominated for best UK feature.
Alan was also selected as one of Camerimage’s debut cinematographers in 2017 for his work on Isolani.
He has continued to work on feature dramas, with the successful ‘Schemers’ (2019) and Channel 5’s ‘The Small Hand’ (2019).
