Alan is a BAFTA Award winning cinematographer working extensively on feature drama and documentary projects.

 

Early in his career he had the opportunity to work as 2nd unit DOP with the likes of Monika Lenczewska PSC (LAbyrinth, Difret, Message from the King) Darran Tiernan (Westworld, American Gods) and Carlos De Carvalho (Star Wars, Darkest Hour).

 

Often found travelling to far flung places for work, he has had many opportunities to experience different cultures and challenging environments. Each encounter offering something satisfying on a creative level and developing his eye as a cinematographer.

 

2017 brought his first opportunity to work as principle DOP on the feature length drama, 'Isolani. Directed by R. Paul Wilson (Shade, ConMen, The Real Hustle), a film about chess and the love of a mother, was nominated at RAINDANCE for best UK feature, and nominated for the BIFA discovery award.

 

Alan was also selected as one of Camerimage’s debut cinematographers in 2017 for his work on 'Isolani'.

 

He has continued to work on feature dramas, with the successful ‘Schemers’ (2019), Channel 5’s ‘The Small Hand’ (2020), and 20th Century's 'Matriarch' (2022)
